Belmont Hills Golf and Country Club

Belmont Golf Course, by Government Information Services

Belmont Hills Golf Club is a centrally located semi-private resort course that offers a demanding round of golf on pristine, intensely bunkered, multi-tiered USGA greens.  Panoramic views of Hamilton Harbour and the Great Sound provide the backdrop for some of the finest 18 holes on the island.  Veteran golf writer and CBS television commentator, Ben Wright, declared that he was "lost in admiration" for the newly designed course.  Every one of the 6,100 yards of slender fairways and contoured greens will thoroughly test golfers' shot-making abilities.  The Club offers superb service, friendly resident pros, a cafe, golf lockers and a golf concierge.  It is easily accessible by taxi, bus, ferry or motor scooter.

Formerly the Belmont Golf and Country Club, this Bermuda golf course has been completely redesigned by architect Algie Pulley. Faced with the constraints of a limited plot, Pulley has created an ingenious course which favors precision over power. The course plays just 6,100 yards.

Belmont Hills opened in June 2003 and boasts the largest number of professional staff of any of Bermuda golf courses.

Holes No. 6 through 8 surround a newly constructed million-gallon lake which aside from being a dangerous hazard provides irrigation for the course. Accurate iron play is necessary on these holes especially.

A round at Belmont Hills costs $75 for hotel or cruise visitors. This does not include a cart, which are available for an additional $25. Proper golf attire and soft-spiked golf shoes are mandatory.

Extensive renovations have made the new Belmont Hills Golf Club more challenging and less hazardous. The 6,100 yard layout includes two man-made lakes separated by a waterfall, and faster greens with with Tiff-Eagle Sprigs. Facilities include a pro-shop, snack bar & restaurant.
